That time of the month isn’t something that most of us jump up and down for. When Aunt Flow visits she’s usually only a welcomed guest when someone’s happy that the contraception has worked! A woman’s period is expensive too! Those pads and tampons add up and do you know what our time of the month does to the environment? How about our health and some of the not so good for us products on the market for our periods?
Luckily our #ecowed host for May 12, 2010 will be Luna Pads. A company with founders that are on a mission to help women have a eco positive period. They’ve launched a new website that is easy to navigate, full of how-to-videos, testimonials and facts on just how to make that time of the month eco-friendly, healthier and save you money! Luna Panties offers a toll free number, online chat for those needing product help and of course you’ll find them on Twitter and Facebook.
See what some of Mom Go Green Bloggers had to say:
“If you’ve tried out their cloth pads, you might agree that the only downfall to them (as with any pads) is their bulkiness. The new Lunapanties are great because they eliminate some of the bulkiness, are super comfy, and I think are cute too, as cute as possible for that time of the month.” – Gidget Goes Home
“Lunapads are amazing innovative reusable cloth pads. The reusable pads they sell are easy to use, clean, store, and transport. Using the amazing ric rac bands to slide in liners and take out liners gives us the ability to save money and save time.” - Truth Be Told
“I don’t know about you but I have ruined my fair share of panties thanks to Aunt Flo so I kinda like the idea of special period panties. I could see other times that these could come in handy, like when you’re pregnant to name one.” – Easy Eco To Go
“I actually liked them for nighttime use better than daytime use. Because of their snugness, they kept me from having gapping/bunching problems that normally come with pads during the nighttime hours. I liked them so much for nighttime use, I would like an entire supply of them.” - Mama Buzz
“Obvious benefits of Lunapanties: these are made from breathable fabric so you don’t get that yucky feeling that comes from wearing a plastic pad.” – Mom Most Traveled
“I was very interested in trying Lunapanties because I see nothing wrong with convenience myself and having panties that also double as a cloth pad seemed genius to me and ooohhhhh it is genius. Even if you use paper sanitary napkins I dare you to see this as less convenient.” – Nature Mom’s Blog
Tonight’s #ecowed party is the time to ask your questions, reveal your shock at the thought of washing reusable pads, and quiz the Lunapad gals on the details of whether their products are really that eco-friendly after all.
