I read a post about bloggers on Twitter asking for sponsorships to conferences and just how annoying this is to the followers. Sponsoring bloggers and blogging events is defiantly worth it for a brand and you can read about that here and here but first there’s a few things both the blogger and the brand to know:
1. Conference Rules. What does the conference allow in terms of items that can be passed out and blogger and sponsor conduct. For BlogHer 2010 there are very specific rules and it would be super embarrassing for a blogger to be kicked out of a conference and worse for a brand to not even know a blogger shouldn’t have been handing out product! So brands, do you know the rules when a blogger pitches you or you pitch them? I’ve been pitched and offered hundreds of dollars in samples but what am I supposed to do with them?
2. What is in it for you? When a blogger pitches a brand it is imperative they have a media kit, what it is they will do for the company (ethically and legally) and how they will report back to the company. For some brands this simply could be a presence with a t-shirt and a post but think about what it is you’re looking for as a brand and what are you looking for as a blogger? The relationship needs to work for both the brand and the blogger so do not be afraid to negotiate, you’re worth it!
I’ve been to a few conferences and I’ve pitched companies and I’ve been pitched. My advice for both the brand and blogger is to have all of the details outlined and a formal contract drawn up. This way the expectations are clear, along with how payment is made. If you’re heading to a conference and you are sponsored or your company is sponsoring a blogger, you’re doing business and you need to do it in a way that does not jeopardize your relationships or reputation.

This is great advice. I actually got a sponsor before the rules were even posted for this year. So I'm tyring to work out a way to help my sponsor. You can hand out samples from your room at Blogher or if anyone approaches you and asks about your sponsor.
Awesome post john, it’s been a long-time since I’ve been on here. I see that nobody has lost their passion. Good to be back.
To have sales or new customers you would need targeted visitors for your internet site or telephone. The internet site should be the pre-sale to the phone call or the sale into the buy button. In either event, you should to drive folks there and also the only way you are able to do which is by having your internet site recognized by the engines. If you’ll need help with that feel zero cost to contact buy backlinks
