I have to admit that I was overwhelmed by the Swag at Blogher. Ecostore USA came to thank the Bloggers for partnering up with us in such a positive way. We came to learn how we can build relationships with bloggers and do it right.
The first and even the second Swag Bag came as a delightful suprise...great things to bring home to the family. But after a while it seemed to me that there was a tremendous amount of discussion about SWAG and not so much about the topics of concern(the seminars seemed to be put on the back burner).
I understand the reason for the Swag and Ecostore gave out bars of soap too....I am just having a hard time feeling good about the hysteria that I felt about "free stuff" ---when there are so many other relevant things to share....what do you all think?

I'd encourage more marketers to think past the mommyblogger. Many of the women in attendance were not mothers with babies or small children, like myself. However, as a blogger I do reach that audience. I really appreciate the sponsors who took the time to talk to me and find out what my blog is about and if we could connect on a consumer or blog/media outlet level.

Along the line of #5 if you're clever enough you may not have to generate buzz with a full on product sample. One of the most talked about items I got was a foot pampering kit from a company that made toys with small parts - for those times you've stepped on the parts and hurt your foot! That was one of the first items I showed everyone because I thought it was such a brilliant tie in - and I don't have children! So did my friends who received one. I might blog about it. I might even buy my nieces and nephews that item for the holidays and I have 8 of them, so it's a win all the way around.
