The Scoop on BPA and Aluminum Bottles
Once again our #ecowed party was a major hit! Check out the transcript with all of the details, great information, links and resources that were shared.
The week before last, Jennifer @thesmartmama shocked us with news of an announcement made by SIGG stating that all of their bottles made before August 2008 contained BPA. Since then the discussion about aluminum bottles and BPA linings has hit Twitter like a firestorm, and we’ve gotten numerous question about it:
- How and why in the world would BPA be used in a metal bottle?
- Didn’t we all switch from toxic polycarbonate bottles to get away from BPA?
- Are stainless steel bottles safe or do they have hidden linings too?
- What can I do with my old SIGG bottles (check out www.bigbottleswap.com for an answer to this question)
We also received emails from many long-time SIGG customers who feel betrayed by the company’s blatant greenwashing practices and have decided not to purchase any more of their products. So where do we go from here? Well, it just happens that I have answers for all of these questions and more! Let talk it up during our #ecowed party this week!

Wow, last week was a major hit for our second #ecowed party! Did you see the posted transcript with all of the details, great information, links and resources? Jennifer @thesmartmama “leached” some news about Sigg being far from transparent and what a tidle wave that created! Have you seen all of the posts and people talking about Sigg? Really I should say the recent posts because Tree Hugger and other sites posted on this awhile back but like lots of green news it sunk to the bottom and we just stirred it up!
